Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Construction & Materials and Support Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ASM International NV (AS:ASMI), which rose 4.18% or 27.80 points to trade at 693.20 at the close. Meanwhile, BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) added 1.69% or 2.55 points to end at 153.70 and Randstad NV (AS:RAND) was up 1.43% or 0.64 points to 45.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO), which fell 2.98% or 1.74 points to trade at 56.60 at the close. Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) declined 2.29% or 26.00 points to end at 1,108.80 and Prosus (AS:PRX) was down 1.41% or 0.47 points to 32.62.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 64 to 39 and 10 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 2.14% or 1.68 to $76.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.91% or 1.57 to hit $80.83 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.44% or 10.50 to trade at $2,405.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 104.20.
