Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO), which rose 3.07% or 0.41 points to trade at 13.92 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 2.05% or 1.600 points to end at 79.800 and Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) was up 1.36% or 0.44 points to 32.69 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which fell 1.82% or 0.087 points to trade at 4.688 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 1.79% or 0.34 points to end at 18.66 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) was down 1.68% or 0.39 points to 22.86.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 70 to 52 and 12 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 3.84% to 13.79.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 3.05% or 1.44 to $48.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 2.06% or 1.08 to hit $53.42 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.98% or 13.02 to trade at $1343.42 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.1921, while EUR/GBP fell 0.55% to 0.9151.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 92.24.
