Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Services and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which rose 3.00% or 4.56 points to trade at 156.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 2.84% or 0.06 points to end at 2.13 and Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) was up 0.96% or 0.76 points to 80.28 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which fell 3.02% or 0.635 points to trade at 20.400 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 2.44% or 2.550 points to end at 102.000 and Relx PLC (AS:REL) was down 1.78% or 0.325 points to 17.940.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 72 to 58 and 12 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 6.58% to 12.83.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.26% or 1.59 to $68.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.69% or 1.35 to hit $78.39 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.10 to trade at $1208.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.1677, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8910.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 94.60.
