Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which rose 1.19% or 1.65 points to trade at 140.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND) added 1.01% or 0.52 points to end at 52.07 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 0.91% or 0.760 points to 84.320 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Heineken (AS:HEIN), which fell 3.77% or 3.30 points to trade at 84.29 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 3.76% or 0.69 points to end at 17.53 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 1.63% or 0.370 points to 22.350.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 68 to 58 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.19% or 1.65 to 140.65.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.01% to 9.98.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.93% or 0.47 to $49.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.90% or 0.50 to hit $54.98 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.00% or 0.04 to trade at $1310.76 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.1968, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.8880.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 91.79.
