Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which rose 1.75% or 0.047 points to trade at 2.732 at the close. Meanwhile, Relx PLC (AS:REL) added 1.29% or 0.260 points to end at 20.430 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) was up 0.82% or 0.78 points to 96.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which fell 2.72% or 0.58 points to trade at 20.78 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 2.00% or 0.396 points to end at 19.400 and Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) was down 1.41% or 0.405 points to 28.255.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 69 to 63 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Relx PLC (AS:REL) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.29% or 0.260 to 20.430. Shares in Heineken (AS:HEIN) rose to all time highs; rising 0.82% or 0.78 to 96.30.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 2.88% to 11.71.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 3.63% or 2.37 to $62.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 3.75% or 2.79 to hit $71.56 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.69% or 8.85 to trade at $1288.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.25% to 1.1158, while EUR/GBP rose 0.07% to 0.8633.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 97.695.
