Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Technology and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa), which rose 1.39% or 0.345 points to trade at 25.175 at the close. Meanwhile, Relx NV (AS:RELN) added 1.27% or 0.225 points to end at 17.905 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was up 0.98% or 0.37 points to 38.03 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 2.77% or 0.600 points to trade at 21.055 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 2.22% or 0.39 points to end at 17.20 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was down 1.33% or 1.85 points to 137.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 75 to 56 and 8 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 5.34% to 10.69.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.27% or 1.15 to $51.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 2.66% or 1.50 to hit $57.92 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.08% or 14.03 to trade at $1311.53 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.94% to 1.1845, while EUR/GBP fell 0.46% to 0.8807.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.55% at 92.46.
