Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which rose 2.91% or 1.32 points to trade at 46.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) added 1.10% or 0.054 points to end at 4.956 and NN Group NV (AS:NN) was up 0.63% or 0.21 points to 33.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO), which fell 1.61% or 0.22 points to trade at 13.45 at the close. Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) declined 1.13% or 0.32 points to end at 27.67 and Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) was down 1.01% or 0.38 points to 36.69.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 76 to 51 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.01% or 0.38 to 36.69.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.42% to 12.65.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.62% or 1.27 to $47.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.67% or 0.88 to hit $51.69 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.14% or 1.77 to trade at $1292.93 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1805, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.9227.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 93.18.
