Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Services and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Altice SA (AMS:ATCE), which rose 5.98% or 7.40 points to trade at 131.15 at the close. Meanwhile, KPN Kon (AMS:KPN) added 1.75% or 0.059 points to end at 3.437 and DSM Kon (AMS:DSMN) was up 1.08% or 0.59 points to 54.97 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were OCI (AMS:OCI), which fell 3.40% or 0.915 points to trade at 26.030 at the close. Ahold Kon (AMS:AHLN) declined 3.20% or 0.58 points to end at 17.67 and Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA) was down 1.62% or 0.15 points to 9.33.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 129 to 114 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in DSM Kon (AMS:DSMN) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.08% or 0.59 to 54.97.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 3.42% to 22.25.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.03% or 0.62 to $59.65 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.86% or 0.55 to hit $62.95 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1172.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1199, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.7120.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 95.43.
