Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ASM International NV (AS:ASMI), which rose 2.28% or 14.00 points to trade at 628.20 at the close. Meanwhile, ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 2.14% or 15.70 points to end at 748.10 and BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) was up 1.11% or 1.60 points to 145.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 2.04% or 0.47 points to trade at 22.52 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 1.59% or 0.25 points to end at 15.76 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) was down 1.34% or 0.22 points to 15.81.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 61 to 33 and 13 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.07% or 0.05 to $75.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.05% or 0.04 to hit $79.25 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.35% or 9.64 to trade at $2,768.84 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 108.03.
