Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND), which rose 3.25% or 1.71 points to trade at 54.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) added 2.07% or 0.32 points to end at 15.79 and SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) was up 1.06% or 0.16 points to 15.23 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which fell 3.37% or 1.22 points to trade at 34.99 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 1.53% or 0.27 points to end at 17.42 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 1.13% or 0.255 points to 22.265.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 64 to 62 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gemalto (AS:GTO) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.37% or 1.22 to 34.99.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.55% to 11.32.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.90% or 1.44 to $51.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.95% or 1.09 to hit $56.88 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.66% or 8.50 to trade at $1293.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.52% to 1.1801, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8933.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.50% at 93.08.
