Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Construction & Materials, Food Producers and Media sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 1.14% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN), which rose 3.94% or 47.20 points to trade at 1,245.60 at the close. Meanwhile, ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 2.75% or 26.40 points to end at 985.60 and Prosus (AS:PRX) was up 2.17% or 0.74 points to 34.56 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which fell 1.17% or 0.33 points to trade at 27.88 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 0.66% or 0.15 points to end at 22.52 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was down 0.58% or 0.02 points to 3.44.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 70 to 28 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) rose to all time highs; up 2.75% or 26.40 to 985.60.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.55% or 0.43 to $78.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.56% or 0.46 to hit $82.38 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.03% or 23.90 to trade at $2,350.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.00% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.24% at 103.89.
