Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 1.10%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which rose 2.55% or 0.92 points to trade at 36.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) added 2.03% or 1.24 points to end at 62.18 and Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) was up 1.92% or 0.081 points to 4.304 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which fell 0.83% or 0.16 points to trade at 19.26 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 0.61% or 0.094 points to end at 15.206 and Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) was down 0.21% or 0.060 points to 28.850.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 92 to 33 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) fell to 52-week lows; down 0.61% or 0.094 to 15.206.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 9.40% to 13.02.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.32% or 0.82 to $62.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.21% or 0.87 to hit $72.64 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.91% or 11.75 to trade at $1286.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.1175, while EUR/GBP rose 0.21% to 0.8732.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 97.657.
