Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 1.03%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Aegon (AS:AEGN), which rose 3.91% or 0.196 points to trade at 5.211 at the close. Meanwhile, ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 3.06% or 0.405 points to end at 13.655 and NN Group (AS:NN) was up 2.69% or 0.87 points to 33.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which fell 2.17% or 0.167 points to trade at 7.533 at the close. KPN Kon (AS:KPN) declined 1.07% or 0.029 points to end at 2.683 and Vopak (AS:VOPA) was down 0.86% or 0.37 points to 42.88.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 86 to 41 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in NN Group (AS:NN) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.69% or 0.87 to 33.25.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.50% to 14.47.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.02% or 0.01 to $53.19 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.13% or 0.07 to hit $55.37 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 1.33% or 16.05 to trade at $1194.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.0726, while EUR/GBP fell 0.68% to 0.8512.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 100.15.
