Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 1.01% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which rose 4.17% or 0.183 points to trade at 4.567 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 3.39% or 0.660 points to end at 20.150 and Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) was up 3.35% or 2.63 points to 81.08 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Relx PLC (AS:REL), which fell 0.46% or 0.090 points to trade at 19.595 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 0.33% or 0.300 points to end at 90.700 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) was 0.17% or 0.00 points to 1.81.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 97 to 36 and 6 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 8.52% to 13.29.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 2.11% or 1.15 to $55.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 2.31% or 1.49 to hit $66.06 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.50% or 6.55 to trade at $1320.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.1274, while EUR/GBP fell 0.64% to 0.8758.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 96.882.
