Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.99%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI), which rose 3.81% or 4.10 points to trade at 111.80 at the close. Meanwhile, ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 3.48% or 24.30 points to end at 722.40 and IMCD NV (AS:IMCD) was up 3.12% or 4.70 points to 155.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which fell 1.54% or 0.06 points to trade at 3.70 at the close. DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) declined 0.62% or 0.75 points to end at 119.40 and Unilever PLC (AS:ULVR) was down 0.61% or 0.36 points to 58.38.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 72 to 27 and 11 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 3.16% or 2.13 to $69.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 2.69% or 1.90 to hit $72.51 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.47% or 37.50 to trade at $2,579.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 101.49.
