Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.98% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 5.51% or 1.046 points to trade at 20.040 at the close. Meanwhile, ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 3.79% or 5.64 points to end at 154.44 and Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) was up 3.04% or 0.89 points to 30.12 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL), which fell 1.17% or 0.44 points to trade at 37.20 at the close. Relx PLC (AS:REL) declined 0.90% or 0.170 points to end at 18.695 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) was down 0.86% or 0.66 points to 75.74.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 89 to 40 and 9 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 6.00% to 14.39.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.07% or 0.57 to $53.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.82% or 0.50 to hit $61.59 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.31% or 16.75 to trade at $1296.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.88% to 1.1404, while EUR/GBP rose 0.14% to 0.8663.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.73% at 95.593.
