Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.96% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd), which rose 3.34% or 0.52 points to trade at 16.11 at the close. Meanwhile, Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) added 2.52% or 27.80 points to end at 1,132.60 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was up 2.09% or 0.59 points to 28.81 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG), which fell 1.69% or 0.47 points to trade at 27.35 at the close. IMCD NV (AS:IMCD) declined 0.27% or 0.35 points to end at 128.95 and Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) was down 0.14% or 0.08 points to 56.18.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 77 to 26 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) fell to 3-years lows; falling 0.14% or 0.08 to 56.18.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.23% or 1.00 to $82.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.90% or 0.76 to hit $85.42 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.77% or 18.15 to trade at $2,386.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.36% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 104.73.
