Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.93%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 10.49% or 0.615 points to trade at 6.480 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 6.94% or 3.680 points to end at 56.680 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 4.58% or 0.565 points to 12.910 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Heineken (AS:HEIN), which fell 2.17% or 1.60 points to trade at 72.08 at the close. Relx NV (AS:RELN) declined 1.21% or 0.180 points to end at 14.720 and Philips Kon (AS:PHG) was down 1.14% or 0.32 points to 27.39.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 90 to 84 and 10 ended unchanged.

The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 15.02% to 19.50.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.53% or 0.69 to $45.67 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.35% or 0.62 to hit $46.66 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.29% or 3.75 to trade at $1278.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.82% to 1.0936, while EUR/GBP fell 1.28% to 0.8790.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.57% at 98.44.
