Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.90%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN), which rose 3.08% or 32.40 points to trade at 1,083.60 at the close. Meanwhile, ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 2.61% or 20.90 points to end at 820.50 and BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) was up 1.74% or 2.10 points to 122.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG), which fell 1.66% or 0.36 points to trade at 21.34 at the close. Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) declined 1.29% or 0.74 points to end at 56.68 and Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) was down 0.84% or 0.20 points to 23.74.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 60 to 41 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Universal Music Group NV (AS:UMG) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.66% or 0.36 to 21.34.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.48% or 1.16 to $77.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.57% or 1.29 to hit $81.08 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.31% or 30.90 to trade at $2,384.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 104.06.
