Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.78% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 6.12% or 0.638 points to trade at 11.058 at the close. Meanwhile, Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 4.57% or 0.09 points to end at 1.99 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was up 3.40% or 5.40 points to 164.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which fell 1.71% or 0.047 points to trade at 2.706 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.62% or 1.440 points to end at 87.720 and Signify NV (AS:LIGHT) was down 1.22% or 0.28 points to 22.74.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 70 to 59 and 9 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 1.98% to 12.95.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.69% or 0.37 to $54.03 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 1.10% or 0.68 to hit $62.66 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.22% or 2.95 to trade at $1316.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1376, while EUR/GBP fell 0.36% to 0.8783.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 96.023.
