Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.77%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which rose 4.00% or 0.222 points to trade at 5.776 at the close. Meanwhile, Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) added 2.52% or 0.730 points to end at 29.680 and Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) was up 1.78% or 0.69 points to 39.53 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT), which fell 5.02% or 1.23 points to trade at 23.26 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 1.62% or 0.04 points to end at 2.25 and Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) was down 0.84% or 0.31 points to 36.57.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 74 to 56 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.78% or 0.69 to 39.53.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.76% to 11.70.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.01% or 0.01 to $72.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.79% or 0.64 to hit $81.17 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.16% or 1.90 to trade at $1206.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1772, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8942.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 93.69.
