Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.72%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 2.82% or 0.795 points to trade at 29.020 at the close. Meanwhile, Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) added 1.76% or 0.102 points to end at 5.898 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was up 1.43% or 0.64 points to 45.41 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which fell 2.42% or 0.474 points to trade at 19.130 at the close. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) declined 0.35% or 0.009 points to end at 2.542 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) was down 0.30% or 0.15 points to 49.83.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 72 to 47 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.43% or 0.64 to 45.41.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 9.41% to 11.34.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.90% or 1.30 to $69.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.60% or 1.18 to hit $74.80 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1312.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.1944, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8827.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 92.51.
