Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.68%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 2.85% or 0.705 points to trade at 25.430 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 2.32% or 1.940 points to end at 85.440 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was up 2.04% or 1.01 points to 50.44 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL), which fell 1.40% or 0.50 points to trade at 35.14 at the close. Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) declined 0.62% or 0.46 points to end at 73.34 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) was down 0.16% or 0.08 points to 50.14.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 86 to 43 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.04% or 1.01 to 50.44.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 9.68% to 11.64.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.21% or 0.85 to $69.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.05% or 0.04 to hit $73.44 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.23% or 2.90 to trade at $1247.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1682, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8836.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 94.49.
