Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI), which rose 5.68% or 5.70 points to trade at 106.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Unilever PLC (AS:ULVR) added 2.94% or 1.64 points to end at 57.46 and Relx PLC (AS:REL) was up 0.92% or 0.40 points to 43.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR), which fell 2.17% or 2.50 points to trade at 112.75 at the close. Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) declined 1.74% or 1.06 points to end at 59.82 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) was down 0.49% or 0.08 points to 15.12.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 54 to 45 and 8 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.05% or 0.74 to $70.03 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.93% or 0.70 to hit $74.26 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.48% or 13.10 to trade at $2,742.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 104.07.
