Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT), which rose 2.41% or 0.60 points to trade at 25.49 at the close. Meanwhile, ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 1.87% or 3.40 points to end at 185.60 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.69% or 1.460 points to 88.080 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Relx NV (AS:RELN), which fell 2.17% or 0.405 points to trade at 18.265 at the close. Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc) declined 1.69% or 0.80 points to end at 46.66 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was down 0.61% or 0.078 points to 12.722.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 73 to 47 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) rose to all time highs; rising 1.87% or 3.40 to 185.60.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 8.57% to 10.52 a new 3-months low.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.03% or 0.02 to $66.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.89% or 0.68 to hit $76.06 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.46% or 6.00 to trade at $1307.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.42% to 1.1623, while EUR/GBP fell 0.83% to 0.8743.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.07% at 94.56.
