Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.54%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were NN Group (AS:NN), which rose 2.12% or 0.57 points to trade at 27.50 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) added 2.09% or 0.111 points to end at 5.426 and Randstad (AS:RAND) was up 1.65% or 0.68 points to 41.69 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 4.44% or 2.690 points to trade at 57.950 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 0.28% or 0.030 points to end at 10.800 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was down 0.21% or 0.50 points to 242.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 123 to 51 and 12 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.52% to 17.16.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.99% or 0.89 to $45.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 2.34% or 1.09 to hit $47.61 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.55% or 7.35 to trade at $1323.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.1201, while EUR/GBP rose 0.05% to 0.8616.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 95.52.
