Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT), which rose 4.83% or 0.95 points to trade at 20.62 at the close. Meanwhile, ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 3.59% or 4.88 points to end at 141.00 and Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) was up 2.67% or 1.96 points to 75.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Relx PLC (AS:REL), which fell 1.39% or 0.255 points to trade at 18.070 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 1.19% or 0.118 points to end at 9.821 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) was down 0.97% or 0.02 points to 1.83.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 87 to 48 and 4 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.97% to 17.97.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 4.36% or 2.17 to $51.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 3.92% or 2.30 to hit $61.02 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.27% or 3.45 to trade at $1289.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.81% to 1.1533, while EUR/GBP rose 0.44% to 0.9032.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.61% at 94.893.
