Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Telecoms and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.50% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Aegon NV (AS:AEGN), which rose 3.52% or 0.168 points to trade at 4.945 at the close. Meanwhile, Altice NV (AS:ATCA) added 2.43% or 0.45 points to end at 18.75 and Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) was up 2.38% or 0.81 points to 34.58 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unilever NV (AS:UNc), which fell 0.85% or 0.43 points to trade at 50.36 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) declined 0.41% or 0.55 points to end at 134.80 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) was down 0.28% or 0.25 points to 88.48.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 75 to 48 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.38% or 0.81 to 34.58.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.67% to 10.36 a new 3-months low.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.21% or 0.10 to $48.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.63% or 0.34 to hit $54.18 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.25% or 3.33 to trade at $1332.37 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1968, while EUR/GBP fell 0.73% to 0.9015.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 91.87.
