Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.49% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 3.07% or 2.550 points to trade at 85.590 at the close. Meanwhile, ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 2.62% or 3.60 points to end at 141.05 and NN Group NV (AS:NN) was up 2.31% or 0.80 points to 35.22 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Relx NV (AS:RELN), which fell 1.40% or 0.250 points to trade at 17.595 at the close. Heineken (AS:HEIN) declined 1.00% or 0.84 points to end at 82.91 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was down 0.91% or 0.34 points to 37.71.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 65 to 59 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.62% or 3.60 to 141.05.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 2.44% to 10.60.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.40% or 0.21 to $52.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.81% or 0.47 to hit $57.45 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.86% or 11.23 to trade at $1290.47 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1767, while EUR/GBP rose 0.19% to 0.8780.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 93.08.
