Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which rose 4.38% or 0.109 points to trade at 2.599 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) added 2.15% or 0.86 points to end at 40.92 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was up 1.84% or 3.55 points to 196.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT), which fell 12.20% or 3.67 points to trade at 26.38 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.60% or 1.220 points to end at 74.880 and Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) was down 0.53% or 0.155 points to 28.940.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 63 to 50 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT) fell to 52-week lows; falling 12.20% or 3.67 to 26.38.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 7.29% to 12.14.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.09% or 0.06 to $67.99 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.55% or 0.41 to hit $74.41 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.33% or 4.30 to trade at $1318.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.36% to 1.2117, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.8701.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 91.29.
