Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.44%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 1.38% or 0.22 points to trade at 16.16 at the close. Meanwhile, Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) added 1.19% or 0.275 points to end at 23.400 and Heineken (AS:HEIN) was up 1.11% or 0.81 points to 73.68 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which fell 4.34% or 0.266 points to trade at 5.865 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 3.91% or 0.480 points to end at 11.805 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was down 1.58% or 0.850 points to 53.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 99 to 61 and 19 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.88% to 22.95.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.51% or 0.23 to $45.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.09% or 0.04 to hit $46.19 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.07% or 0.95 to trade at $1278.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.1025, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8906.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 97.90.
