Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.44%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which rose 1.67% or 2.94 points to trade at 179.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) added 1.24% or 0.255 points to end at 20.770 and Relx PLC (AS:REL) was up 1.24% or 0.250 points to 20.420 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which fell 2.21% or 0.228 points to trade at 10.086 at the close. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) declined 1.23% or 0.033 points to end at 2.650 and Randstad NV (AS:RAND) was down 0.91% or 0.44 points to 48.04.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 72 to 55 and 14 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 7.72% to 14.38.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.45% or 0.28 to $62.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.86% or 0.61 to hit $71.85 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.07% or 0.95 to trade at $1297.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.1206, while EUR/GBP rose 0.39% to 0.8718.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 97.350.
