Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.43% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which rose 2.40% or 0.91 points to trade at 38.61 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) added 2.21% or 0.80 points to end at 36.74 and Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) was up 1.85% or 1.26 points to 69.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which fell 0.81% or 0.31 points to trade at 38.01 at the close. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) declined 0.73% or 0.021 points to end at 2.853 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was down 0.71% or 1.45 points to 202.55.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 79 to 46 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gemalto (AS:GTO) fell to 5-year lows; down 0.81% or 0.31 to 38.01. Shares in Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.85% or 1.26 to 69.40. Shares in Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) fell to 52-week lows; falling 0.71% or 1.45 to 202.55.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.81% to 10.69.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.61% or 0.84 to $51.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.44% or 0.83 to hit $56.74 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.11% or 1.43 to trade at $1289.23 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1781, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8765.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 93.03.
