Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN), which rose 5.46% or 58.20 points to trade at 1,124.40 at the close. Meanwhile, DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) added 4.98% or 5.50 points to end at 115.95 and Randstad NV (AS:RAND) was up 1.40% or 0.62 points to 44.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which fell 2.50% or 0.68 points to trade at 26.53 at the close. BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) declined 1.76% or 2.10 points to end at 116.90 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 0.63% or 0.13 points to 20.62.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 71 to 29 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.98% or 5.50 to 115.95.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.45% or 1.10 to $74.71 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.28% or 1.01 to hit $78.04 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.28% or 6.75 to trade at $2,432.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 104.37.
