Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.41%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 2.50% or 0.560 points to trade at 23.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) added 2.40% or 1.53 points to end at 65.26 and Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND) was up 1.55% or 0.76 points to 49.87 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which fell 5.47% or 2.48 points to trade at 42.91 at the close. Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) declined 1.17% or 2.50 points to end at 211.05 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was down 0.54% or 0.016 points to 2.955.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 90 to 37 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gemalto (AS:GTO) fell to 5-year lows; losing 5.47% or 2.48 to 42.91.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 7.17% to 12.13.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.23% or 0.11 to $47.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.40% or 0.21 to hit $52.65 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.51% or 6.77 to trade at $1328.97 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.1877, while EUR/GBP fell 0.55% to 0.9159.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 92.69.
