Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Services and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.40% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which rose 1.70% or 0.26 points to trade at 15.22 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 1.63% or 1.370 points to end at 85.380 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was up 1.13% or 0.033 points to 2.965 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which fell 0.85% or 1.80 points to trade at 210.80 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 0.40% or 0.07 points to end at 18.67 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) was down 0.29% or 0.12 points to 41.26.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 63 to 58 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) rose to all time highs; rising 1.63% or 1.370 to 85.380.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.26% to 10.23.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.62% or 0.78 to $49.01 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.20% or 0.65 to hit $54.92 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.47% or 6.21 to trade at $1326.49 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.69% to 1.1883, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8998.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.62% at 92.46.
