Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Healthcare and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 8.20% or 0.771 points to trade at 10.175 at the close. Meanwhile, ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) added 2.85% or 0.45 points to end at 16.25 and DSM Kon (AS:DSMN) was up 1.42% or 0.85 points to 60.61 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which fell 1.38% or 0.18 points to trade at 12.90 at the close. Unilever NV (AS:UNc) declined 1.35% or 0.56 points to end at 40.58 and Relx NV (AS:RELN) was down 1.19% or 0.190 points to 15.840.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 90 to 76 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in DSM Kon (AS:DSMN) rose to all time highs; rising 1.42% or 0.85 to 60.61.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.30% to 20.04.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 4.13% or 1.63 to $41.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 3.92% or 1.64 to hit $43.44 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.59% or 8.15 to trade at $1364.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.67% to 1.1149, while EUR/GBP fell 0.38% to 0.8372.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.51% at 95.50.
