Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Ahold Kon (AMS:AHLN), which rose 5.48% or 0.94 points to trade at 18.18 at the close. Meanwhile, Altice SA (AMS:ATCE) added 3.11% or 2.90 points to end at 96.22 and Aegon (AMS:AEGN) was up 2.98% or 0.209 points to 7.231 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP), which fell 1.09% or 2.65 points to trade at 241.05 at the close. Akzo Nobel (AMS:AKZO) declined 1.01% or 0.70 points to end at 68.57 and Unilever NV (AMS:UNc) was down 0.42% or 0.17 points to 39.26.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 160 to 80 and 6 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.58% to 19.48.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.76% or 0.45 to $58.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.13% or 0.75 to hit $65.41 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.61% or 7.20 to trade at $1181.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1149, while EUR/GBP fell 1.38% to 0.7152.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.25% at 95.14.
