Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Randstad NV (AS:RAND), which rose 3.33% or 1.30 points to trade at 40.31 at the close. Meanwhile, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) added 3.16% or 4.34 points to end at 141.66 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 3.01% or 2.640 points to 90.400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT), which fell 4.28% or 0.88 points to trade at 19.67 at the close. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) declined 1.92% or 0.049 points to end at 2.503 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was down 0.67% or 0.92 points to 136.12.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 83 to 52 and 7 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 3.39% to 18.15.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 2.51% or 1.22 to $49.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 2.27% or 1.30 to hit $58.63 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.19% or 2.45 to trade at $1287.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.1452, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.9004.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 95.422.
