Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ASM International NV (AS:ASMI), which rose 4.60% or 25.40 points to trade at 577.00 at the close. Meanwhile, BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI) added 2.37% or 3.05 points to end at 131.55 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was up 1.98% or 13.90 points to 717.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO), which fell 1.34% or 0.76 points to trade at 56.12 at the close. Prosus (AS:PRX) declined 1.07% or 0.43 points to end at 39.92 and DSM Firmenich AG (AS:DSFIR) was down 1.03% or 1.03 points to 99.02.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 51 to 49 and 13 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.63% or 0.44 to $70.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.01% or 0.74 to hit $73.93 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.39% or 10.29 to trade at $2,651.71 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 106.86.
