Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.34% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Prosus (AS:PRX), which rose 2.54% or 1.02 points to trade at 41.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Shell PLC (AS:SHEL) added 2.51% or 0.76 points to end at 30.84 and Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO) was up 2.36% or 1.40 points to 60.64 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Relx PLC (AS:REL), which fell 1.86% or 0.84 points to trade at 44.44 at the close. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) declined 1.45% or 0.05 points to end at 3.68 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was down 1.11% or 0.36 points to 32.14.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 56 to 42 and 13 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.85% or 1.24 to $68.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.60% or 1.14 to hit $72.26 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.10% or 29.31 to trade at $2,688.91 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 105.68.
