Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Financials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 4.93% or 0.314 points to trade at 6.685 at the close. Meanwhile, Aegon (AS:AEGN) added 4.11% or 0.191 points to end at 4.841 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 2.37% or 0.305 points to 13.155 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KPN Kon (AS:KPN), which fell 2.61% or 0.070 points to trade at 2.617 at the close. Heineken (AS:HEIN) declined 2.38% or 1.69 points to end at 69.25 and Relx NV (AS:RELN) was down 1.34% or 0.190 points to 13.990.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 85 to 82 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.93% or 0.314 to 6.685. Shares in KPN Kon (AS:KPN) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.61% or 0.070 to 2.617. Shares in Heineken (AS:HEIN) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.38% or 1.69 to 69.25.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.63% to 20.32.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 2.26% or 0.98 to $42.43 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 2.17% or 0.97 to hit $43.78 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.11% or 1.35 to trade at $1225.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.99% to 1.0747, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8601.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.95% at 99.93.
