Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 2.96% or 2.460 points to trade at 85.660 at the close. Meanwhile, ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 1.60% or 2.70 points to end at 171.90 and Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) was up 1.24% or 0.54 points to 44.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN), which fell 1.64% or 0.43 points to trade at 25.85 at the close. SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) declined 1.03% or 0.14 points to end at 13.97 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 0.70% or 0.185 points to 26.205.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 60 to 58 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) fell to 5-year lows; losing 1.64% or 0.43 to 25.85. Shares in ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) rose to all time highs; rising 1.60% or 2.70 to 171.90.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.48% to 12.66 a new 1-month low.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.31% or 0.81 to $61.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.96% or 0.63 to hit $64.86 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.23% or 3.10 to trade at $1320.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.2328, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8871.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 89.95.
