Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which rose 2.29% or 0.83 points to trade at 37.01 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 1.74% or 1.750 points to end at 102.300 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 0.91% or 0.176 points to 19.576 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO), which fell 1.75% or 1.35 points to trade at 75.58 at the close. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) declined 1.02% or 0.028 points to end at 2.704 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was down 0.96% or 1.50 points to 154.45.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 81 to 48 and 16 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.28% to 11.97.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.24% or 0.15 to $63.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.11% or 0.08 to hit $71.55 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.60% or 7.75 to trade at $1281.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1179, while EUR/GBP rose 0.19% to 0.8643.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 97.613.
