Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 3.47% or 0.06 points to trade at 1.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT) added 1.88% or 0.43 points to end at 23.31 and Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc) was up 1.43% or 0.69 points to 49.09 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 3.56% or 0.723 points to trade at 19.582 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.52% or 1.340 points to end at 86.700 and Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) was down 1.49% or 0.59 points to 38.88.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 64 to 60 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.56% or 0.723 to 19.582.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.18% to 16.85.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.88% or 0.97 to $50.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 1.68% or 1.02 to hit $59.54 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.83% or 10.20 to trade at $1218.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.1285, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.8861.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 97.355.
