Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.12% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which rose 2.04% or 0.390 points to trade at 19.490 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) added 2.01% or 0.051 points to end at 2.594 and ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) was up 1.39% or 0.54 points to 39.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Philips Lighting NV (AS:LIGHT), which fell 1.86% or 0.50 points to trade at 26.43 at the close. Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) declined 1.49% or 0.440 points to end at 29.145 and Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) was down 0.92% or 0.38 points to 41.13.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 60 to 56 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL) rose to all time highs; rising 1.39% or 0.54 to 39.48.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.11% to 11.78.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 2.80% or 1.98 to $68.75 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 2.27% or 1.73 to hit $74.44 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1314.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1885, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8768.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 92.83.
