Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Industrials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 17.58% or 15.630 points to trade at 104.550 at the close. Meanwhile, Aalberts Industries NV (AS:AALB) added 3.62% or 1.26 points to end at 36.03 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 2.63% or 0.645 points to 25.170 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which fell 3.76% or 5.94 points to trade at 151.84 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 3.49% or 0.07 points to end at 2.08 and Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) was down 1.44% or 1.16 points to 79.52.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 82 to 40 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) rose to all time highs; up 17.58% or 15.630 to 104.550.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.82% to 13.73.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.88% or 1.30 to $70.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.83% or 0.66 to hit $79.72 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.63% or 7.60 to trade at $1209.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1625, while EUR/GBP rose 0.13% to 0.8917.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 94.84.
