Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Technology and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.08% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO), which rose 1.52% or 0.23 points to trade at 15.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) added 1.29% or 0.39 points to end at 30.74 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) was up 1.21% or 0.20 points to 17.16 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which fell 0.92% or 0.32 points to trade at 34.29 at the close. Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) declined 0.78% or 0.29 points to end at 36.96 and Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) was down 0.64% or 0.019 points to 2.944.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 62 to 60 and 12 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.37% to 10.17.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.84% or 0.43 to $51.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.07% or 0.61 to hit $57.78 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.11% or 1.38 to trade at $1305.98 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.1810, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8888.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 92.99.
