Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG), which rose 1.20% or 0.42 points to trade at 35.79 at the close. Meanwhile, Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa) added 1.16% or 0.335 points to end at 29.185 and Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) was up 0.90% or 0.76 points to 85.16 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN), which fell 2.09% or 0.050 points to trade at 2.347 at the close. Aegon NV (AS:AEGN) declined 1.42% or 0.074 points to end at 5.126 and Relx NV (AS:RELN) was down 1.39% or 0.250 points to 17.790.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 86 to 40 and 14 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 1.37% to 15.29.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 3.60% or 2.45 to $70.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 2.28% or 1.70 to hit $76.25 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.50% or 6.30 to trade at $1262.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1666, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8812.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 94.22.
