Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Financials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA), which rose 3.63% or 1.62 points to trade at 46.22 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) added 2.74% or 1.17 points to end at 43.65 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) was up 2.34% or 4.75 points to 207.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Royal Dutch Shell PLC Class A (AS:RDSa), which fell 4.90% or 1.395 points to trade at 27.080 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 2.31% or 0.233 points to end at 9.839 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 1.49% or 0.216 points to 14.302.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 69 to 63 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.63% or 1.62 to 46.22. Shares in Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.74% or 1.17 to 43.65.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 3.17% to 12.74.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 7.37% or 4.32 to $54.26 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 6.49% or 4.22 to hit $60.83 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.78% or 11.25 to trade at $1449.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.1081, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.9121.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 98.167.
